How to care for acrylic caravan windows

Acrylic windows need a gentler approach than household glass. Learn the safe basics before wiping road dust away.

Remove loose grit first

Dry wiping can drag dust across acrylic. Rinse or lift loose contamination gently before touching the surface with a clean, soft cloth.

Use a compatible cleaner

Do not assume ordinary glass cleaner is suitable. Check the window or caravan manufacturer’s instructions and avoid ammonia, solvents and abrasive products unless explicitly approved.

Keep tools dedicated and clean

A cloth previously used on wheels, metal or gritty surfaces can transfer particles. Use clean tools reserved for windows and rinse them often.

Work in manageable sections

Choose shade or a cooler time so the surface does not dry too quickly. Use light pressure and stop if contamination will not release safely.

Treat cracks and seal issues separately

Cleaning is not a repair. Cracks, clouding between layers, leaks or damaged seals should be assessed by an appropriate caravan repairer.
